There some things you need to know:

The right size: Do not use "pants size"- the kilt might not fit if you order by pants size- there is unfortunately no formula where you can take someone's pants size and determine what size kilt to get- you must measure. Our kilts are worn much higher on the waist than a pair of pants is, please click on the "Kilt Sizing Info" button above for additional information.

Yes, it's hard to keep it a surprise when you have to measure, you might have to get creative in order to measure! In any case, you can exchange/return a kilt within 30 days of purchase as long as the temporary pleat stitching is still in place. If the pleat tacking has been removed, the kilt will not be eligible for a return or exchange.

Please contact us for instructions before sending a kilt back to us. So check the fit on the kilt before you cut the pleats loose! Please note that kilts with tacked-down pleats may hang funny, the pleats should straighten out once the pleats are freed.

The only essential accessory is a sporran- that's the "pouch" that hangs in front. There are many styles to choose from. If you want to get additional accessories, think about a kilt pin and a wide kilt belt. Please E-mail us if you have other questions.
